I’m Jake, and I write most of what’s on this site. Short version of how it works: I don’t pretend. I research shoes the way a careful friend would before telling you what to buy, and I show my work.
What we do
Specs come from manufacturer and big retailer listings first. Then I cross-check them against independent reviews, because heel heights in particular get measured differently all over the place. When sources disagree, I show the range rather than pick one.
The part that takes longest is reading what owners say after months of use: sizing, how fast the upper wears, whether the strap actually holds. I’m looking for patterns, not one angry review. And because shoes get new versions and prices move, I go back through every guide each month and update the date at the top when something changes.
What we don’t do
I haven’t personally tested the shoes on this site, and I won’t invent “30-day test” stories. I’m new to barbell training myself. If I add hands-on testing later, I’ll say exactly what I did and show the photos.
How we make money
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you buy through them, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Commissions never decide our rankings: a shoe that pays more doesn’t rank higher. See our full affiliate disclosure.
