About Jake

Hi, I’m Jake Martin. I run Best Weightlifting Shoes, a small site with one job: help you pick the right lifting shoe without wading through ten sites that all say different things.

I’m new to barbell training myself. When I went looking for my first pair of lifters, I couldn’t find a straight answer to simple questions like “what heel height do I need?” Every review used different numbers, and plenty of them read like ads. So I started keeping my own notes, and those notes turned into this site.

What you’ll find here

Buying guides for specific needs (squats, wide feet, tight budgets), reviews of individual shoes, and plain explanations of things like heel height and fit. Every spec comes from manufacturer listings and independent reviews, and when sources disagree I show you the range.

What you won’t find

Fake “we tested it for 30 days” stories, made-up star ratings, or rankings that change because one shoe pays a bigger commission. I haven’t worn most of these shoes, and I say so. You can read exactly how I research each guide.

How the site makes money

Some links go to Amazon, and if you buy through them the site earns a small commission at no extra cost to you. That’s what keeps it running. The details are in the affiliate disclosure.
